Version 6.0 - Luna I Tier List Changes

6.0 Release Changes (September 10, 2025)

Name Tier Updates
Genshin - Lauma C0Lauma
Genshin - SS Support & Sub-DPSNEW

Updated: Directly replacing Nahida on both Sub-DPS and Support roles for Bloom, Hyperbloom, or Burgeon reactions, Lauma provides the resurgence of Dendro the element has been sorely lacking as of late.

Lauma provides off-field Dendro application, Dendro and Hydro shred, and also enables the Lunar-Bloom reaction, which is basically an AoE nuke. While not as fancy as Lunar-Charged, the damage Lunar-Blooms can bring is no joke. We're expecting Lauma to be the Support to someone catering for the Lunar-Bloom reaction in the future, and because she drastically improves characters focused on Dendro reactions like Nilou, we're placing her at SS immediately.
Genshin - Aino C0Aino
Genshin - B Sub-DPS NEW

Our yearly new free 4-star, Aino is only rated at C0 at the moment and will be re-rated again once her actual banner with Flins arrives.

Aino has several issues in her kit that comes down to numbers (extremely low DMG multipliers) and team-specific requirements (Nod-Krai reliant), and the fact that she benefits characters with Lunar reactions but she herself doesn't create one. However, she has access to off-field Hydro application with low Energy cost and long Burst duration, which is still high-value for most characters. It is quite obvious that Aino will be our placeholder for an eventual Hydro Nod-Krai character for the moment, which is why she will start at B-tier. We recommend getting her constellations once Phase 2 arrives as her C6 boosts Lunar Reaction DMG.
6.0 Tier List Reevaluation Characters that emphasize specific team comps and elemental reactions are given more weight than their flexibility due to them dominating in the meta. There is also an undeniable trend about powercreep, which is increasingly noticeable since Mavuika's release and late 5.X character releases. As such, some characters in their current tier, despite their universalities or ease of use, especially in the Main DPS list, are depreciated. This change also disbands the Dual Rating system as their best teams are prioritized more in this tier list.

From hereon, we will show and explain all changes brought by this reevaluation.
Genshin - Nahida C0Nahida
Genshin - S Tier Down Support & Sub-DPS

Updated: Lauma currently offers a sizable version of Nahida's C2 already at her base investment, as well as stronger personal damage and consistent Dendro Application. As such, Lauma now takes the role of supporting the relevant Bloom-related reactions. The only remaining place Nahida can be is on Aggravate or Spread teams, which is also not meta as of the moment, which is why we're also bringing down Nahida's Sub-DPS tier down as well.
Genshin - Zhongli C0Zhongli
Genshin - S Tier Down Support

While still the most comfortable sustain in the game, the level of support newer characters give to teams as of late are more worth than what he can provide, even when considering newer players or F2Ps.
Genshin - Nilou C0Nilou
Genshin - S Tier Up Sub-DPS

Reinstatement of her S-tier ranking due to Lauma's release. In situations where her kit is normally bad against, like in Single-Target, Lauma now provides a means for her to be also viable on such scenarios.
Genshin - Ineffa C0Ineffa
Genshin - S Tier Up Support

With Aino's debut and Flins' eventual release, Ineffa's value has grown stronger as she dominates Electro-weak matchups while being the sustain option for characters in her team like Neuvillette Lunar-Charged.
Genshin - Kokomi C0Kokomi
Genshin - Thoma C4Thoma
Genshin - A Tier Up Sub-DPS

Increased tier due to Lauma's release which benefits their best teams for Bloom and Burgeon respectively.
Genshin - A Tier Down Adjustments to Previous S-Tier
Affects the following DPS units:
Affects the following Sub-DPS:
Affects the following Supports:
These characters naturally declined in priority as we get more powerful characters of their respective elements or best teams.
Genshin - B Tier Down
Adjustments to Previous A-Tier
Affects the following DPS units:
Affects the following Sub-DPS:
Few use case in the current roster as they're now third or fourth choice for their team archetypes, but are still strong enough to be useful for Imaginarium Theater.
Genshin - C Tier Down
Adjustments to Previous B-Tier
Affects the following DPS units:
Affects the following Supports:
These characters on their respective elements are already oversaturated and are only used as a free-to-play option.
Genshin - D Tier Down
Main DPS Adjustments to Previous C-Tier
Affects the following DPS units:
Their main source of DMG has been long forgotten, and is not really worth the investment.
No Changes Reevaluation will not affect the following DPS units for now:
These characters are still the best low-cost flexible DPS for their respective Elements. Neuvillette and Arlecchino are still great pick-ups that can fit in multiple team comps while also being self-sufficient, while Alhaitham is the best Hyperbloom DPS with Lauma, and Navia is the current best Geo DPS.
Other changes of note

Tier List Criteria and Notes

Tier List Overview Criteria

As we theorize and test characters, they are not treated as a singular unit but as a core member in their best team comp. In other words, characters shall not be judged in isolation. Here you can check the summary of explanations for each tier:

Genshin - SS Rank Icon SS Tier Characters that stand out as one of the strongest units in their intended team comps, who also has the edge of potentially staying relevant for long periods of time, and dominates endgame without question in their best teams.
Main DPS: The sheer damage potential ensures that their longevity can be maintained, not to mention their great ease of use and comfortability to defeat enemies. They greatly utilize existing and any potential future support units as they are able to be inserted in the best team comps within their respective elements. They are the best utilizers of the current best Sub-DPS and Supports and can dominate endgame with ease.
Sub DPS: Characters who are the best Elemental Applicators and teammates in several top-tier team comps, all while having good damage of their own.
Support: Universal buffer supports whose utility are essential to increase most top-tier team comps' overall damage and comfort, and sustain supports who offer the best talents to prevent your party from ever being wiped out while still having good offensive utility of their own.
S Rank Icon S Tier Characters that reach their peak strength with the recommended amount of investment. There's only small rooms for improvement and they ensure that you can beat any content with ease. These are all the best characters in their respective elements but not quite as broken as the character in S-Tier
Main DPS: The starting point of the best characters at the recommended level of investment. They can match up against the best characters in the highest tier but needs a little bit more investment in their weapons, constellations, or other equipment.
Sub DPS: Characters with superb damage, or are often the core applicators for some relevant team comps in the game. There may be certain alternatives who are able to work better in a particular team comp.
Support: Offers one of the best buffs or sustain in their own particular niche, but are less accessible if put to other team comps.
A Rank Icon A Tier Characters who can only become strong with maximum investment on all aspects (artifacts, weapons, team comps, constellations) to achieve similar performance as the other characters in the upper tiers. This is the cut-off point for the strongest characters in their respective roles.
Main DPS: Requires max investment on both their own and all three of their other teammates to be able to match up against characters in the upper tiers.
Sub DPS: Good Elemental Applicators or damage dealers up until a point, who specifically shines in their own team comps. They are also often used in some niche or specialized team comps.
Support: Offers specialized buffs or sustain, but have certain limitations in their own kits that prevents them from being more universal.
B Rank Icon B Tier Characters with solid performance in their respective roles. They shine in specific team compositions, but not so much on their own.
Main DPS: Characters who require max investment, but may still not be enough to compete against the best DPS in the game due to limitations on their kit, stats, or talent scalings, and gets no sufficient help from current meta units.
Sub DPS: Decent Elemental Application and damage on their respective team comps, but are not entirely required on such parties.
Support: Characters who are good on their intended role, but sees minimal usage from the top-tier team comps versus the other characters in the higher tiers.
C Rank Icon C Tier Characters who can do the job for their respective role, but can be replaced quickly due to mere lack of good numbers from their talents or stats, or are stunted by their own cooldowns and energy requirement.
Main DPS: Damage scaling is lower in comparison, but are able to do their job in the right team comp. More often than not, it's better to pick characters who can trigger better reactions.
Sub DPS: Offers some manner of application and damage, but are stunted by their own scalings or rate of application.
Support: Characters who can offer sustain or buffs and are decent at doing it. However, there exists better alternatives who are easier or more efficient to use in the long run.
D Rank IconD Tier Characters with limited combat utility. You can use these characters if you don't have anyone else, but we recommend replacing them with a better character for that role.
Main DPS: Damage scaling is very low to be able to keep up, even against elite mobs.
Sub DPS: Extremely niche and offers no real edge in terms of damage and application against characters in all other tiers.
Support: Characters that have some manner of support, but are outright replaced with mediocre characters that are more accessible or useful in a given team comp.

Role Breakdown

Role Function
Main DPS ・The main damage dealer of the party, which is often the hypercarry, the on-field driver, or the trigger for Elemental Reactions.
・Damage dealt is mostly from the character being on-field for an extended period of time, often being the final character in your team's rotations.
Sub DPS ・Providers of off-field damage and utility via Elemental Application. These characters focus on helping the Main DPS trigger reactions by setting up the necessary elements, while also dealing damage of their own.
・Characters with Talents that stay on the field even after being switched out.
・Characters with damaging talents that are meant for quick-swap teams.
Support ・Provides support in the form of buffs, shields, heals, or crowd control via the use of their Elemental Skills, Burst or Passive Talents, and are primarily used off-field.
・Have Talents capable for elemental application, not necessarily for dealing damage.

Tier List by Constellations

Constellation levels listed in the Main Tier List are considered the ideal level for that character's role.
It is important to note that characters are evaluated in comparison with other characters in the current meta, and as such, may affect their rankings in all tier lists.
For example:
• Xingqiu's C6 is considered his optimal constellation and is thus ranked on that power level.
• Hu Tao and Wriothesley C1 open up new playstyles and combat rotations, and so it may be considered as the better starting point before they are assessed on their power level.

On Changes to the Tier List

Changes to a tier list is delicate and periodical, and we understand that any changes made to a tier is drastic and requires explanations. Below, you can find four scenarios within a patch's life cycle and our plan of action when it occurs:

Scenario Notes
A new character releases: Preliminary Rankings Expect preliminary rankings for a character when they first release. These will not be their final rankings in the version and will always be subject to change. As we'll need time to test their kit out, we urge our readers to treat the rankings on their first week as temporary. These will now be denoted with aNEW symbol.
A character's banner will soon end: Final Rankings Around a week before the new character's banner ends, we will be finalizing our thoughts about the character's tier.
While we call this as the final rankings, characters released in the future may affect previous characters' overall performances. Those characters will be subjected to change as well.
Meta Shifts Shifts to the combat system like new mechanics or the release of a powerful support character can shake up our tier list. A concrete example of this was Dendro shaking up the meta when it first released, resulting in characters like Shinobu, Keqing, and Thoma, to rise up in rankings.
Fixes Feedbacks that explain in detail why a character may or may not be in the correct tiering can be reconsidered for deliberation.

you can find them on simpact.app. some of them are unreliable and assume c6r5, and some have trash team rotations and builds. clorinde on a c0 decent build usually comes at 100-110, and varesa is pretty much always 110ish

Nahida and Ineffa should be promoted to SS tier and xingqiu should only be S tier
