Mega Dimension DLC Slated for a Winter Release

Mega Dimension, the Paid DLC in Pokemon Legends: Z-A, has been announced in the September 2025 Nintendo Direct!

As shown in the Official Japanese website, the Mega Dimension DLC is set to release this Winter before February 28, 2026!

Mega Evolutions Return!

At the end of the reveal trailer, the iconic symbol for Mega Evolution popped up. This could likely tease that Mega Evolution will not only be present, but will have a major role in the game!

The February 2025 Pokemon Presents has also revealed some of the Mega Evolutions from previous games. Other than these, Pokemon Legends: Z-A is likely to feature some new Mega Evolutions for returning fan favorites and starters!

Mega Victreebel was revealed in a spooky trailer on August 21, 2025. Mega Victreebel is the second new Mega Evolution announced for the game.

Notably, this Pokemon is from Generation 1, the same as Dragonite. There is a chance that even more Generation 1 Pokemon may be given Mega Evolutions in this game.

The Pokemon Legends: Z-A and Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition games have been slated for release on Thursday, October 16, 2025.

Preorders will begin Thursday, June 5, on Nintendo eShop.

The Nintendo Direct that aired on March 27, 2025 revealed the Z-A Royale, a nightly tournament held in Luimiose City that allows the player to engage in Trainer Matches and Promotional Matches within the city's battle zones.

A tweet from the Nintendo of America Twitter/X account has revealed that Pokemon Legends: Z-A is set within Lumiose City. No further details were mentioned, but it seems like the game will focus on developing the city itself.

This follows the setup of having mixed generation starters similar to Pokemon Legends Arceus, with Chikorita and Totodile originating from Johto and Tepig from Unova.
