Pokemon Legends: Z-A is set entirely within Lumiose City alone. This is a complete departure from how Trainers in the main games would usually hop from city to city to challenge different gym leaders!
Expect a Larger and Denser Lumiose City to Explore
As the story takes place within the borders of Lumiose City, the game will feature a larger and denser version of the city compared to what we have previously explored in Pokemon X and Y.
According to the official website, the city now has more greenery and facilities with a cutting-edge feel.
City Features Wild Zones Where You Can Capture Wild Pokemon
Wild Zones are areas located throughout Lumiose City and serve as habitats for wild Pokemon for them to coexist with people. You can enter these zones to battle and capture wild Pokemon.

Lumiose City is located in the Kalos Region and is considered the central hub and meeting area in the region.

The Prism Tower at the Center
The Prism Tower is the city's most notable landmark which was prominently featured in the trailer, and is also home to the city's Electric-type Gym with Clemont as the Gym Leader. The structure is heavily inspired by the Eiffel Tower as the entire region is based on France.
Lumiose City is From What Generation?
Lumiose City is From Generation 6
Lumiose City first appeared in Pokemon X and Y, which is the Sixth Generation of Pokemon games.
This generation saw the debut of Fairy-type Pokemon as well as the Mega Evolution battle mechanic, which was also featured in the trailer.

The Game Will Be Considered Generation 9
Considering Pokemon Legends: Z-A will be released after Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, the game will be considered as part of Generation 9. The same was done for Pokemon Legends: Arceus as it is considered to be part of Generation 8.
