Due to the placement of the bosses, the natural progression of your roster will be to start with Dendro-core teams and slowly transition to Pyro-core teams over the course of the Performance. Make sure to save your Natlan units for the second boss as it requires units that can enter Nighsoul's Blessing state.
As such, make sure that you have your most powerful Pyro units as possible near the end of the performance, and that you select plenty of Hydro and Dendro units for the Performance itself.

During the early stages of the Performance, put more emphasis on units that can help you survive in preparation for Act 3's Maguu Kenki: Three Shadows boss.
In addition, since Xingqiu is part of the Opening Characters, bringing him along with your Pyro DPS can make quick work of this boss as he helps mitigate damage while also allowing Vaporize for your Pyro units.

Act 6's Tenebrous Papilla requires Nightsoul-aligned attacks to quickly breaks its shield. However, continuous elemental attacks, like Burning, is also a viable tactic
Act 4's Monolith Defense specifically benefits from units that have taunt or AoE capabilities, so make sure you have a units like Lyney or Neuvillette ready for Act 4.

Act 9 features the bounty targets, and Act 10 has the Lava Dragon Statue, requiring the use of Pyro units, such as Arlecchino and Mavuika.
Despite not having Electro units to utilize Overload, Chevreuse is still viable for this boss due to her Elemental Burst dealing a lot of Pyro DMG.

All characters, including the opening characters and guest stars, will still be selected at random.
However, here is a list of example team comps for characters to use for each Act's boss fight.
In Act 3, Yaoyao is chosen to provide more survivability and enable more reactions for Hu Tao. She can be replaced with any unit that supports Hu Tao's damage or improves team survivability.
With the Opening Characters, your priority is to check and see which of these units you plan to bring into the later levels, and consume the energy of the ones more suited for fodder opponents.
With the rest of your currency, you can opt to purchase blessings to enhance your damage right off the bat or later on, as these boons can drastically improve clear times with proper usage.
With this season being based more on Pyro DMG, you will want to save someone like Arlecchino or Mavuika until the end when they see the most use in Act 10.
|
|
In Act 3's boss fight, you will face the Maguu Kenki: Three Shadows, requiring you to bring units that can help your survivability, such as Xingqiu, who is available as an Opening Character.
Any DPS units can be used as long as they can provide enough damage to defeat the boss in time.
In order to defeat the Maguu Kenki: Three Shadows in a short time, you must focus on grouping them. Focusing on the two stationary Maguu Kenki is a good tactic as eventually the Frost Kenki will join the group
Upon reaching Act 4, you will have lost a portion of your opening characters and may have one or two uses left for the rest, so start unlocking your more powerful personal units, especially Pyro and Hydro units.
Act 4 is the Monolith Defense and since you have access to Pyro and Dendro units, bring one with stall potential like Tighnari or Lyney. AoE units like Neuvillette are also good choices.
Act 5 can be argued as one of the last easy fights you will have on the Theater Grounds, which makes using fodder units here more effective as they can spare the energy of a more important unit.
|
|
The Tenebrous Papilla in Act 6 requires you to bring Natlan units that are capable of destroying through the Papilla's shield.
In addition, continuous elemental damage is very good against Papilla's shield, so utilizing Pyro units and Dendro units to trigger Burning is a very viable option.
As with every rendition of the Tenebrous Papilla, destroy its shield within the first 13 seconds with elemental damage or Nighsoul-aligned attacks.
After destroying its shields, Its resistances will be significantly reduced, allowing for your team to deal damage before it goes back to its shield phase.
Around this time, you can start to unlock more of your Pyro units in preparation for Act 10's boss fight. Make sure you have a fast-moving or strong DPS available for Act 8.
You can refresh from the number of events until you get a Combat Event that does not lend any advantages or disadvantages to an Element, allowing you to pick and choose any character so long as they can reliably damage foes.
Also, try to look out for the Mystery Caches to get some of your other units back, so you can have a wider variety of options to choose from when building a team comp.
|
|
Act 8's Potapo's Solidarity requires your team to include a healer. In this fight, a Protection Spirit will eventually appear in the battlefield and once you fully healed the spirit, It will aid you in dealing damage against Potapo.
Bring units like Neuvillette who has an in-built healing mechanic.
When starting the fight, deal damage to Potapo until the Protection Spirit appears. At that point, focus on healing your units as it will heal the spirit as well and once fully healed, it will deal damage to Potapo
By this point in time, you should have enough energy to use up your last spare DPS units for Act 9's bounty units, and your main Pyro DPS for Act 10's final boss.
If you have the spare currency, you can use them on mystery caches to try and get some units back.
Similar to previous seasons, Act 9 requires you to kill certain Bounty units that spawn alongside a never-ending wave of enemies until you complete the challenge.
Single-target DPS units shine here due to their ability to effectively assassinate the one enemy that needs to be taken down in a horde.
|
|
The final act boss in act 10 is the Lava Dragon Statue, where you need to utilize Pyro characters to quickly overburn it.
Bringing Dendro units alongside Pyro units to trigger Burning is a very good tactic, as it will continuously deal Pyro DMG.
Make sure to bring Pyro units to quickly overburn it. Arlecchino is an incredibly amazing unit for this boss as she deals a lot of Pyro DMG.

Whoever at mihoyo keeps thinking it's a good idea to put enemies like the perpetual mechanical array in time sensitive modes like imaginarium theater and abyss, I hope they step in a puddle and have to wear wet socks all day, and when they come home that night, they see a spider and try and get it but miss, and have to live knowing it's loose somewhere in their home for the next few days. I can't even hit it half the time because it's flying away or doing that thing where it splits apart 🙄 dumb
