Who is Durin in Genshin Impact?
Durin was a dragonlike creation made by the alchemist Rhinedottir, whose existence was not compatible with the citizens of Teyvat. He died in Mondstadt and was eventually resurrected by Albedo.
Revealed in the Moonlit Ballad of the Night Teaser
Durin was shown in the Song of the Welkin Moon: Moonlit Ballad of the Night teaser in what appeared to be Nod-Krai, with Ineffa and Jahoda. It seems he may have gone to Nod-Krai with Albedo, Alice, and Wanderer who were also shown in the teaser.

Durin Has A Pyro Vision
Durin was shown to have what is highly likely to be a Pyro vision at the base of his tail in the Moonlit Ballad of the Night teaser, confirming him to be a Pyro character!

Japanese Voice Actor is Kobayashi Chiaki
Durin's Japanese voice actor was revealed to be Kobayashi Chiaki, and his English voice actor is yet to be announced.
Durin Release Date
Possible Release in 6.0 or Beyond
Durin's new appearance at the end of the Archon Quest Interlude Act 4 implied that he might become a playable character in the future, with a similar medium height model as Venti or Albedo.
He's likely to be released as a playable character sometime after Version 6.0, as he was teased in Nod-Krai's story teaser, Moonlit Ballad of the Night!

One of Rhinedottir's Creations
Durin was one of the many creations of Rhinedottir during her time in Khaenri'ah, with Durin himself being the first of her more prized creations before Albedo.
Eventually, Durin found himself in Mondstadt and attempted to co-exist with its people there, but was unable to due to Durin's innate danger towards them.

Story and Profile
Slain by Dvalin and Barbatos
Sometime in Mondstadt's past, Barbatos and Dvalin eventually came to face off against Durin in an effort to save Mondstadt, finally defeating him and crashing his body into the nearby mountains.
His blood and bones eventually melded with the mountain's landscape to form what is currently known as Wyrmrest Valley in Dragonspine. Its heart can be found in a cave in Wyrmrest Valley, still beating.

Contained Subject One aka Albedo's Clone
During the Version 2.3 Shadows Amidst Snowstorms event, one of Rhinedottir's earlier creations took Albedo's form and attempted to create clones of Albedo to kill and replace him.
After defeating the doppleganger and burying his body in Dragonspine, it somehow ended up merging with Durin's heart.
Mini Durin Version in Simulanka
Created by M
M, along with two of the members of the Hexenzirkel Alice and B, created the world of Simulanka. M chose to write Durin as one of the living beings in its world.
Despite the warnings of B, who warned that he would go down the same path as his Teyvat namesake, M still chose to breathe life into him, creating Mini Durin.
Similar to Real-World Counterpart
Mini Durin shares the same desire to befriend the people of Simulanka, the same way that the Teyvat Durin wanted to befriend the people of Mondstadt.
However, unlike the Teyvat Durin, this version of Durin manages to finally befriend the Simulankans with the help of the Traveler and his companions.
Fated to Rise From the Dead
A talk between Wanderer and Albedo near the end of the Simulanka Event revealed that the Real-World Durin is fated to resurrect from the dead, a theory that is supported by Albedo's recent findings in Dragonspine.
Durin and Mini Durin Became One
In the Archon Quest Interlude Act 4, the original Durin had begun to ressurect himself. Albedo enlisted the help of Mondstadt characters and the Traveler to stop his attempts.
In order to fully circumvent Durin's awakening, Albedo instead transmuted Durin's remains to create a human body for Mini Durin of Simulanka, merging their fate and existence together.

A version of Durin appears in the Genshin Impact 4.8 flagship event, Summertide Scales and Tales. He plays the role of the Evil Dragon terrorizing its people, and must be sought after by the Hero and his companions.

Both the original Durin and the Mini Durin were featured in the Archon Quest Interlude Chapter Act 4, Paralogism, where they became one entity through human transmutation.
