Character Customization is a returning feature in Pokemon Legends: Z-A. Read on to learn more about character customization and the things you can customize such as outfits, hair, and even Furfrou!
How to Customize Characters
Go to the Salon for Hair and Makeup
For all things hair, the salon in Lumiose City is the place to be. Simply make your way there and you will be able to spend Poke Dollars to change your look!
You can opt to try a different hairstyle with different colors to really add to your character's personality and spice things up a bit!
Closet for Outfits
Apart from hair and makeup, you can also go to different shops and boutiques around Lumiose City to purchase outfits. Afterwards, you can view these outfits, customize their color, and change your makeup in your closet!
Dress your character up to heart's content and traverse Lumiose City in your own unique style!
Adjust Your Makeup
Accessing the Makeup Section allows you to customize your character's eyelashes, blush, lipstick and many more. You can even change your character's eye color and complexion!
Go to Mirte to Customize Your Furfrou
If you managed to snag yourself a Furfrou, you can go to Mirte and ask their Scyther to give it a trim and a style. Choose which style you'd like for your Furfrou, spend some Poke Dollars, and let Mirte whip up some magic!
Furfrou Pokemon Stats and Details
Gender Selected in the Game Will Determine Ally
The gender you've selected at the start of the game will determine the ally you'll have in Hotel Z. If you choose the male character, you will have Taunie as your ally. Choosing the female character will get you Urbain.
However, as it appears from the Pokemon Presents 2025 Trailer, all customization items seem to be unrestricted to gender, so you can put makeup on Urbain if you wish!
What Can Be Changed in Character Customization From Previous Titles?
Most Character Features Can Be Changed Except Gender and Skin Color
In Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, the character customization option was extensive and mostly focused on changing facial features.
Pokemon Legends: Arceus provided little in regards to facial customization, but made up for it in terms of clothing variety.
Both gender and skin color in all previous games can only be customized at the start of the game. Once you've chosen both, you will no longer be able to change them throughout your progress.
