Keep Track of Context Clues from NPCs

The game will not provide you with waypoints or objectives to follow, so it is up to you to keep track of your clues and hints as you interact with the people and environment.

Listen carefully to the dialogue that you share with relevant characters, and note down things that may be important to your investigation or help you navigate to your next destination.

Focus on Environmental Cues

Take note of sound cues, marks on the grounds and walls, and other environmental factors as you explore the world. It is highly recommended that you use headphones when playing this game since the audio design will let you know which direction noises come from.

Turn On Show Directional Audio for Additional Assistance

Hell is Us -Directional Audio
For additional assistance, you can also turn on the Show Directional Audio option in the Accessibility tab, in the game settings. This will show a graphic representation on the screen for gameplay-related sounds.

Take note, that this is a large gold-colored indicator, which will only let you know of a sound’s direction and should not be confused with an objective tracker.

Use Your Compass to Orient Yourself

Hell is Us - Use Your Compass
Since the game does not have a map, orienting yourself is gonna have a key role in navigation. A good tip is to assign an orienting direction to locations of interest.

For example, in Senedra Forest, the ATC is north of the forest. If we establish this as a guiding direction, you can return to the ATC from anywhere in the forest as long as you try and head North, in its general direction.

The compass has to be part of your loadout before you can use it.

Equip Usable Items into your Loadout

Hell is Us - Load Out
After picking up a usable item, dont forget to equip it into your loadout to use it. On your Datapad, select the Loadout tab and equip it under the Usable Items.

Items cannot be used from your Inventory and need to be equipped.

Peek Corners For Enemies

Hell is Us - Peak Corners
When approaching a blind turn, try and peek corners to check if an enemy is nearby. This will give you the time to think about your next move before fully engaging in battle.

Target Lock Your Enemy and Utilize Your Drone

Before getting in range of an enemy, do not forget to Lock-on to your target. This is a good indicator to identify if a downed enemy is dead and won't get up to attack you.

Drones are not just handy flashlights; once locked-on to an enemy, you can also make use of them as distractions so you can pass by an enemy or help you buy time to run away.

Take Advantage of Pulse Healing

Make sure to take advantage of Pulse Healing. Keeping your health at max will let you explore longer, so make sure to have good health management. Remember that your max health directly affects your stamina.

Adjust Enemy Difficulty

If you chose your difficulty at the start of the game and it's still too challenging, you can adjust the combat difficulty manually in the settings. Settings are fully adjustable from enemy health to base damage, so you can adjust this to suit your needs.
