Level Cap in Borderlands 4

The maximum level cap in Borderlands 4 is Level 50. Read on to learn what the level cap is, the benefits of reaching that level, and how to unlock the Specializations system.

Maximum Level Cap

Current Level Cap is 50

The maximum level your characters can reach is 50. This means a fully leveled character will have 49 skill points. This level cap will increase with future updates and DLC just like in previous titles.

Once your character reaches Level 50, you will have unlocked most of the nodes in their skill trees. Plan your build to make the most out of the final nodes of a skill tree or respec a character with cash via the Respec Machine.

Post-Story Level Cap

Unlock Specializations System

After completing the main story, you will unlock another leveling system called Specializations. This will let you further improve your build through unlocking nodes for additional stats.

Eventually, you will unlock Specialization Skills that give passive bonuses to your character. Use these to maximize your endgame builds!
