Safehouses and Silos are fast travel stations that need to be cleared or unlocked. When you unlock a new Safehouse or Silo, you will gain 40 SDU.

In certain locations, there are Evocarium puzzles where you need to collect yellow orbs in the area. Interact with the Evocarium stand to quickly reveal where the orbs are. Once you collect them all and interact with the statue, you will get 15 SDU.

When you interact with a Vault Symbol, you will earn 5 SDU. Though it is not a lot, you should check you map often to see if a Vault Symbol is nearby.

You can spend SDU Tokens in the SDU Menu. There are eight storage decks you can upgrade: the maximum ammo count for pistols, SMGs, assault rifles, shotguns, and sniper rifles; Backpack slots; Bank slots; and Lost Loot Machine slots.
When you buy a new slot, the next upgrade for that storage deck will be more expensive. Spread out your SDU tokens to make your game easier, or save them to upgrade the ammo capacity for a legendary weapon.
Generally, you should upgrade your Backpack first. With a bigger backpack, you can take less trips to a bank or a vending machine as you farm.
Then, you can upgrade the maximum ammo of your strongest weapons. If you need more slots for special loot, upgrade your Bank slots instead.
