Idolator Sol is located in Fortress Indomita, Idolator's Noose in Fadefields. Idolator Sol appears as a boss encounter in the main mission, Rush the Gate.
Idolator Sol can also be repeatedly farmed after you complete Rush the Gate. Return to the location after the main mission and spend cash at the Moxxi's Big Encore Machine near the entrance of the boss arena to re-farm it.

Throw Locust Rod When Immune
When Idolator Sol becomes immune, wait for it to throw a series of rods across the arena. Look for the glowing green rod, grab it, and throw it back to break its immunity.
Shoot the Green Weak Spots for Extra Damage
Idolator Sol will reveal green, blob-like weak spots on its body during the fight. Target these whenever they are exposed to deal significantly more damage and speed up the battle.
